Prospective Residents
UND offers residence hall options for the full academic year, fall semester only, and spring semester only. You may apply for a residence hall room at any time. The sooner you apply, the better your chances of receiving the room you request. You may have received a residence hall application in the general information packet from Enrollment Services. You may complete and submit that application or you may print the application (pdf file link below). To receive a room assignment, you must complete all steps listed below:
- Complete and mail the Residence Hall Application
You may submit your application up to a year in advance.
- Include your $35 HOUSING application fee with the application. This is in addition to the $35 admission application fee.
- You and the roommate you request may send applications together in the same envelope. Roommate requests must be mutual.
- Spring 2010 students, please sign and return the 2009-10 Room and Board Contract
.
- Fall 2010 students, please sign and return the 2010-11 Room & Board Contract - available in February 2010.
- The final step is to pay the $250 first installment.

Living with a Roommate
If you will be requesting a specifc roommate, please do so as soon as possible.
- Roommate requests must be mutual.
- Students can indicate their roommate preference on the Housing Application. You can send your applications in the same envelope. We cannot guarantee all requests.
- On the Fall 2010-11 Residence Hall Application, students are given the opportunity to indicate a music preference. The student may rank up to three preferences. Similar music preferences will be used to assist in roommate placement, when no specific roommate is indicated.
- The Roommate Agreement is a great way to start off right with your roommate. Print it here, have both roommates fill it out, and share your answers with your roommate. It covers topics like study hours, music hours, and possessions each roommate is or isn't willing to share.
Cancellations
Students may cancel their residence hall application at any time BEFORE they have signed a room and board contract. After a student has signed his/her contract, he/she is advised to read their contract carefully before canceling. After the $250 first installment has been paid, approved contract cancellations will result in a cancellation fee. Once a student arrives on campus he/she is expected to fulfill the signed contract. Inquires regarding cancellations will be addressed by the Associate Director of Residence Halls.
All cancellations must be in writing and submitted to the Housing Office. Send to:
