The University of North Dakota located in Grand Forks is one of the largest and most diversified universities in the Upper Midwest. Enrolling approximately 13,000 students in 9 colleges and schools (including law and medicine), about half of UND students are from North Dakota and the others come from every state and more than 50 nations. The campus is situated on 550 acres and is admired for its beauty in all seasons. Candidates will find in UND a liberal arts institution with a premiere aviation program and professional schools not typically found in a mid sized institution. UND values it's workforce and candidates will experience an overarching strong work ethic.
Grand Forks residents are proud of the school system (K-12 and college) and our park and recreation services including a recent bike path extension that makes it one of the best in the Midwest. There are opportunities to enjoy a stimulating career, the arts, and Division I men's and women's ice hockey in a midsized town, with an atmosphere of low crime and a clean environment.
UND has 15 residence halls and over 800 single student and family apartments. Approximately 35% of UND students live on campus. Dining Services includes three dining centers, a central bakery and warehouse, a food court and several retail outlets as well as campus vending services. The dining program and the housing student organizations are award winning and have effective mechanisms for student input. Recently completed projects include University Place, a $20 million replacement apartment-style housing for 270 students which opened in fall 2007. Squires Dining Center also received a renovation completed in fall 2007. Residence Services employs more than 200 full time staff and 450 students and as such is the largest student employer on campus.
