Graduate Student Housing

Choosing a place to live is an important step in your education. Many graduate students find that living on-campus means better access to campus resources and closer proximity to classes. UND has a variety of housing options including 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments or residence halls.

APARTMENT ELIGIBILITY

  • For Single Student Apartments, you must:
    1. Be an enrolled UND student taking at least 6 credits per semester AND
    2. Have completed a minimum of 90 undergraduate credit hours OR
    3. Be 23 years of age or older
      • A roommate is not required in 2-bedroom units. However, roommates must be UND students of the same sex as the leaseholder and must be listed on the lease.
  • For Family Student Apartments, you must be:
    1. An enrolled UND student taking at least 6 credit hours per semester AND
    2. Married and living with spouse OR a single parent whose children reside with you 50% of the calendar year
  • For 3-Bedroom Family Apartments, you must be:
    1. An enrolled UND student taking at least 6 credit hours per semester AND
    2. Married and living with spouse and two or more childrenOR a single parent residing with two or more children.
  • For Hamline Square (formerly Bronson) Apartments, you must be:
    1. An enrolled UND student taking at least 6 credit hours per semester AND
    2. Leaseholder must be 21 years of age or older
      • Roommates must be UND students of the same sex as the leaseholder and can be younger than 21, but must be listed on the lease.

For ALL apartments: During the summer, you must maintain a minimum of three credits during the Summer Session, unless you are enrolled for the following fall, in which case you are not required to attend the Summer Session.

How to Apply

  • Complete the application.
  • Include a $35 non-refundable application fee in U.S. Funds
Once we receive your application fee and necessary paperwork, your name will be entered onto a computerized waiting list. Priority is established according to the date all the application fee and completed paperwork are received in the Housing Office. It is difficult to assess an individual's assignment date, as there are many factors involved.

REsidence Hall Information


Selke Hall is a co-ed hall for students who have 30 or more undergraduate credits hours or are 19 years of age or older. Student rooms are suite-style, which means two double rooms are joined with a common area containing a toilet, two sinks, and a shower. Modified rooms for student with special needs are available.

Swanson Hall is also a co-ed hall. This hall is home to students with 60 undergraduate credit hours and above or who are 20 years of age or older. Modified rooms are available for students with special needs.

Hancock Hall is a co-ed graduate student hall. Hancock contains single and double rooms with private baths in community clusters. Students over 21 years are eligible regardless of class status.
