Faculty Apartments

General Information

Faculty housing is a service provided by the University of North Dakota to ease the transition for new employees to the University and the Grand Forks community. Forty apartments are available for faculty housing each year. Before an assignment can be made, applicants must have the written approval of their Dean or Vice President, as well as the approval of the Director of Residence Services.

Each college has a limited number of assignments, which must be used before August 1. Thereafter, the Director of Residence Services will approve assignments on a first-come, first-served basis until all 40 units have been assigned.

Assignments are made by the Housing Office and last for one year only, beginning June 1 and ending July 15 the following year. Extensions must be approved by the Dean and will count as one allocation for the following year. All faculty housing is in the UND Gallery Apartments.

Application Procedure

To qualify for a faculty assignment, individuals must have a commitment from the Dean of their college for one of that college's annual faculty allocations. Staff assignments require the approval of the appropriate Vice President.

Incoming faculty must submit a UND Faculty Housing Application with a $35 non-refundable application fee to the:

Housing Office
University of North Dakota
P.O. Box 9029
Grand Forks, ND 58202-9029
The Deans will submit a list of approved applicants to the Director of Residence Services, who will then send an assignment notification when a unit is available.
